What To Expect

Sexual difficulties rarely exist in isolation. Culture, religion, family systems, and social expectations all shape how we experience desire, identity, and intimacy. As a social scientist and therapist, I hold both the personal and the political — helping you untangle what’s yours from what’s been imposed on you.

How We'll Work Together.

Therapy is most effective when we work collaboratively.

  • Explore what has brought you to therapy and understand patterns you may not have noticed.

  • Develop a shared understanding of your difficulties and what maintains them.

  • Develop strategies tailored to your unique situation.

  • Adjust our approach based on what's working for you.

Our work together will be:

  • Collaborative – We make decisions together about your treatment.

  • Consensual – You're always in control of what we explore and at what pace.

  • Non-judgmental – A safe, affirming space (no shame & no shade)

  • Flexible – Responsive to your changing needs

You set the agenda. I bring the therapeutic expertise. Together, we find your path forward.

My Therapeutic Approach

Our relationship is key in therapy. You know your life best - your mind, your body, your story. My role is to help you understand your experiences and find a path that suits you.

I use an integrative approach, combining evidence-based therapies that address thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and feelings. Depending on your needs, I draw from:

  • Psychosexual Therapy (PST) – Exploring the connection between emotional well-being and sexual health

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Understanding how thoughts influence feelings and behaviours

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – Building psychological flexibility through mindfulness-based approaches and values-based living

  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) – Developing self-compassion and managing self-criticism

  • Somatic Approaches – Tuning into the body's signals and sensations as a gateway to healing, recognising that our experiences live not just in our minds but in our nervous systems and physical selves.

Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. I aim to align to your experiences, goals, and what resonates with you.
